Love4Lucas Turkey Trot Virtual Event

We’re thrilled to announce this year’s Love4Lucas 6th Annual Virtual Fundraising Event—a Turkey Trot!

Gather your family, friends, neighbors and yes, even your furry friends to be part of this meaningful annual event. This year's event features a special edition: a 1-mile dog walk - because every step counts, even the furry ones. Whether you skip, run, walk, bike, or dance your way through 1M or 5K, you'll be supporting the Love4Lucas Foundation with every stride. Join us ANYTIME and ANYWHERE from Thursday, November 27 to Sunday, November 30, 2025.

Thanks to the unwavering generosity of our supporters and volunteers, Love4Lucas is able to donate 100% of proceeds to research organizations dedicated to finding a cure for DIPG. Over the past five years, we've contributed $250,000 to advance scientific research and improve outcomes for children battling brain tumors. Your generosity makes a difference! The Love4Lucas Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization created in honor of Lucas Harashima. On September 17, 2016, at the age of 5, Lucas was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma). DIPG is an aggressive brain tumor that affects children between the ages of 4 and 11 and interferes with all bodily functions. Lucas died on March 21, 2018, just a few months shy of his 7th birthday.

Step 1: Sign up as an individual or with your entire family. Furry Friends can join in the fun! When registering, you can find the Furry Friend add on.

Step 2: You can create a team (or join an existing team) by going here.

Step 3: Invite your friends and family to sign up for the event. In the registration confirmation email, you will receive a personalized URL to share and invite friends and family to sign up. 

Step 4: Go the extra mile and use the fundraising tools to set up a fundraising page here to make it easier to collect donations for Love4Lucas. Registrants who raise $500+ will receive a Love4Lucas tote bag and an entry in a drawing to win a 3-night stay in the Catskills as a thank you for their fundraising efforts. 

Step 5:  Buy additional Merch for your family or team! Must be purchased by November 20 to receive in the mail for the event.

1. Plan your adventure for the event. Wear your Love4Lucas merch! Walk, run, bike, rollerblade, skateboard or whatever you prefer for 1M or 5K. 

2. Take photos or videos at the start, along the way, and at the finish. Use #love4lucasturkeytrot or tag us @love4lucasfoundation in your social posts. You can also share photos on the race Photos page.

When does the Virtual Event Start/End?

This is a virtual race so you can complete your distance anywhere and anytime from November 27 through November 30. 

Can I really choose any distance? 

YES! Choose 1M or 5K! 

Can I Walk? 

YES! This event is for all levels and abilities.  Run, Walk, Jog, Bike, Skip, Dance - choose whatever you prefer and have fun! 

Is there a race shirt?

Yes! You can add-on a dri-fit running shirt when you register for the event.

Can I invite friends and relatives?

Absolutely! Please post and share the race page with all your friends, relatives, and neighbors.  You can also "Create a Group/Team" and invite others to join your team.
