About Molly's Miles
For 10 strong years, the Molly's Miles 5K, 10K and Virtual Run is a mid-Missouri race that raises money to support the family members of police officers killed in the line of duty. All proceeds from the race will be provided to Missouri Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). This year, we are moving to a virtual only format. Look below to learn about how virtual races work!
The race is named after Officer Molly Suzanne Thomas Bowden who was mortally wounded while conducting a routine traffic stop on the night of January 10, 2005 in Columbia, Missouri. Molly passed away on February 10, 2005 at the age of 26 years old. She had been on the Columbia Police force for over three years and was the first Columbia Police officer killed in the line of duty.
The slogan for this race is "In Honor of the Survivors," and focuses on the surviving families and affected co-workers of Missouri law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.

About Virtual Racing
Virtual races were popularized just after the Covid-19 pandemic as way to enjoy competition and supporting important causes while preventing the spread of the disease. Years later, there are still many virtual only races or a virtual component to in person races. For Molly's Miles in 2027, we will be virtual only this year. Here's how it will work!
Throughout the month of April, up until our legacy race date of the last Saturday in April (4/24/27), you can run the required distance on your own time, wherever you'd like, and then submit your time. It's all based on the honor system, so please be respectful of the system and don't cheat! You can submit your finish times HERE.
Challenge Description
Molly's Miles is about coming together in support of our fallen law enforcement officers' survivors. What better way than to compete as a team? In our First Responder Team Challenge, you can do just that! First, find three co-workers at your department that enjoy running as much as you, then complete the registration form (pictured right), and register for the race under the team rate. Top three overall times will be used to calculate the best time for the team. The winning team will receive a trophy, sponsored by the Columbia Police Foundation, their name on a traveling plaque, and of course, bragging rights. Don't miss out on the fun and register your team today!
