About Northern Illinois Food Bank's Fight Hunger 5K I 10K I 1-Mile
Join us for the 14th annual Fight Hunger 5K I 10K I 1-Mile run/walk, taking place at Cantigny Park in Wheaton on May 1, 2027. Expect a morning filled with delicious food, fitness, fun, and entertainment for the whole family. This memorable event unites nearly 1,700 individuals, spanning all ages and backgrounds, in a shared mission to support our Northern Illinois neighbors and cultivate vibrant, flourishing communities.
Parking on Race Day
- Free parking is available in the South Lot for participants, volunteers, and spectators
1 S 151 Winfield Rd, Wheaton - $1,000+ fundraisers will be emailed a parking pass for the VIP parking lot.
- Race day packet pick-up and check-in will take place at the Visitor’s Center.
If you have already picked up your packet, you do not need to check in on event day. - Please bring your race bib and wear it during the event. Participants are encouraged to wear their 2026 Fight Hunger shirts proudly on the course.

7:30 AM: Packet pick-up, check-in, and day-of registration open
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your race start time to allow for parking, check-in, and walking to the start line
8:30 AM: National Anthem sung by West Chicago’s Hannah Thompson
- Mascot race featuring Northern Illinois Food Bank’s Clem and the Kane County Cougars mascots Ozzie and Annie
- 1-Mile Fun Run begins
8:45 AM: 10K begins
8:55 AM: 5K begins
Walkers and strollers, please line up behind runners at the Start Line. Walkers, please stay to the RIGHT along the course to help keep everyone safe and allow runners to pass.
9:00 AM: Post-run festival begins
