October 24, 2026 7AM in San Francisco!  If you decide to run virtually,  you can run, walk or cycle - any distance you want - anywhere you want - even if you're in another state, another country, or another planet!  You may complete your distance any time and across as many days as you want, any time before October 31, 2026.  Last year, we raised over $100,000 for our charity, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! This year, we're hoping for $100,000 or MORE!  Please help us reach or exceed our goal!
Registration for the 2026 Virtual Pinkathon will open on 6/1/26!  You can choose any distance, and complete your challenge anywhere, anytime before the end of October 2026!
The Pinkathon San Francisco In-Person Event will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026 @7AM, at the San Francisco Ferry Building by Gott's Roadside Outdoor Patio and Joyride Pizza at Pier One.
This event is always a FUNDRAISER for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  Donations will remain open until Dec. 31, 2026!  Donate at https://pinkathon.com/donate
The In-Person Pinkathon San Francisco is a "do-it-yourself" or "fat-ass" event, meaning that we have NO AID STATIONS and NO COURSE MARKINGS (except for the 5K & 10K turnarounds & Pink Ribbon Trail).  You must bring/carry your own water and snacks.  We have downloadable maps and turn-by-turn directions that you can find at https://pinkathon.org/pinkathon-maps
Registering for the Pinkathon In-Person Event at the San Francisco Ferry Building on Sat. Oct. 4, 2026 is $25.  Your $25 registration fee is NOT YOUR DONATION TO BCRF and is NOT tax-deductible
Registering for the VIRTUAL Pinkathon is FREE.  Registration for the In-Person Pinkathon is $25 to cover basic setup costs.  Our goal of raising $50,000 this year for BCRF is not possible without your additional VOLUNTARY DONATIONS which go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! https://pinkathon.com/donate
Whether you register for the Virtual or In-Person Pinkathon Event, we DO expect EVERY participant to ALSO make a voluntary TAX-DEDUCTIBLE donation to our charity, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the top-rated breast cancer charity in the world!  Make your tax-deductible donation to BCRF during registration or at https://pinkathon.com/donate. You can also create your own individual or team/group fundraising page and raise donations from your family, friends and co-workers!
To keep our fees super-low, your in-person registration fee of $25 does NOT include things like free T-Shirts, but we will have some refreshments, water and snacks at the start/finish and SWAG/prizes for those who make donations to BCRF (we do keep track!).
If you want to buy a neon-pink 100% polyester Pinkathon Performance T-Shirt, you need to order and pay for it online at least 3 weeks in advance at the "T-shirts" link on the left side bar. The shirts will be sent to your home.  NO T-shirts will be available for sale at the Start/Finish.  However, volunteers will receive free shirts if they sign up before we order! (10-11-26).

DONATIONS & RAFFLE TICKETS:

  • The Pinkathon is, first and foremost, a FUNDRAISER for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The organizers are both breast cancer survivors and unpaid volunteers. 100% of your donations go to the charity, not race expenses or salaries. So, we would like to ask ALL participants to make a voluntary donation to our charity to the best of their ability.  https://pinkathon.com/donate
  • You can donate online at https://pinkathon.com/donate (preferred).
  • We can also accept cash and checks made out to "Breast Cancer Research Foundation" or "BCRF." (Please don't make out the check to the Pinkathon.)
  • Everyone who donates at least $25 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation will receive 1 entry into the Pinkathon Raffle.  Your registration fee (also $25) is NOT A DONATION!  You need to make a separate donation to BCRF during the registration process or make a donation later at https://pinkathon.com/donate
  • It's best if you donate online by Fri. 10/24/25 by 8pm.  We will conduct a random selection of raffle prize winners from everyone who has donated at least $25 to BCRF before that time.  Raffle prizes will be announced and given out at the event or via mail.
  • This year's Raffle Prizes are worth over $1,000! For a list of this year's Raffle Prizes, visit https://pinkathon.org/raffle.
  • The Raffle Drawing will occur at 8 a.m. during announcements. If you donate after 8 a.m., you won't be able to participate in the Raffle.
  • There will also be a separate raffle drawing for Virtual participants by the end of October. Virtual participants will be automatically entered (no raffle ticket needed).
  • This year, our Fundraising Goal is $75,000! Please help us reach or exceed our goal!
  • BCRF's Non-Profit Organization EIN # is  13-3727250. Their most recent financial statements are at: https://www.bcrf.org/financials/

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Everything! Especially Water! You must bring and carry your water bottles and snacks for the trail! You can refill your water bottles at water fountains at the Ferry Building and along the course.
  • The Pinkathon is a "Fat-Ass" Event, which means that it is FREE, UNOFFICIAL, NO Official Distances, No Official Timing, NO AID STATIONS, NO WATER, NO FOOD, NO FREE SHIRTS, NO RACE PORT-A-POTTIES, NO COURSE MONITORS & NO COURSE MARKS (except for 5K, 10K and Pink Ribbon Trail), and NO NOTHING!
  • If you feel so inclined, please bring food and drinks to share such as baked goods, cookies, muffins, donuts, bagels and To-Go-Boxes of FRESH HOT COFFEE from Peets or Starbucks!  We will have a refreshment table set up for you to share your goodies!

COURSE MAPS:

  • Download, print, and bring your map to the Event at https://pinkathon.org/pinkathon-maps.
  • These maps also show the locations of bathrooms and water fountains along the course
  • Most race distances (except for the Marathon, 50K, and Pink Ribbon Trail) are out and back along the San Francisco waterfront.
  • We will attempt to make some course markings (chalk arrows, etc) for the 5K, 10K, and Pink Ribbon Trails). Possibly other distances if we can.
  • Please download, print, and carry your maps for all other distances.
  • Downloadable GPX map files by Michael Li will be available for the 50K and 26.2M distances on the maps page at https://pinkathon.org/pinkathon-maps.
  • No printed maps will be available.

BATHROOMS & WATER FOUNTAINS:

  • Start/Finish Area:  There are public bathrooms and water fountains located on each end (North & South) inside the SF Ferry Building.  The bathrooms at the North End tend to get crowded and sometimes have long times.  The bathrooms at the South End (closest to the Bay Bridge) tend to be less crowded
  • Along the Course: The Pinkathon has NO AID STATIONS.  There are several public bathrooms and water fountains along the waterfront, and you can find them on our course maps at https://pinkathon.org/pinkathon-maps

PARKING

  • We recommend the parking garage at 250 Clay Street does not require any validation and costs a flat all-day fee of just $8.  If you park at Embarcadero 4, you will need to validate your parking ticket at the Farmers Market Veggie Valet, and it won't save you much and it might not even work! Take our advice and park at 250 Clay Street.

GEAR BAGS:

  • There will be a gear bag check area at the Pinkathon. We will hold your bag until 2pm and then take it home.  Please do not leave anything valuable or important with us like keys, phones or wallets.  We are not responsible for stolen or missing items.

T-SHIRTS & SWAG:

  • There are no Pinkathon T-shirts to give away or for sale at the Event!   (A few shirts might be Raffle Prizes).
  • We will have some great Pinkathon SWAGs for purchase, like Pink Socks, Hats, and more!
  • Even if you don't have a Pinkathon shirt, please wear something PINK at the Event!
  • If you'd like to order a Pinkathon T-shirt, you can order one online at https://teamlocker.squadlocker.com/#/lockers/pinkathon-290709.

  • If you are already registered for this year's Event, you can find, download, and print your own customized Pinkathon Bib by signing into your account at: https://runsignup.com and go to your Profile and you'll See a link to download your bib.
