About Sand to Serengeti
The race offers two race distances, our 10 miler and 5 miler.
10 miler: If you are a local CNY runner, you know about our own little backyard gem - Green Lakes. This race will take you through all the twists and turns of this beautiful park. The race starts at the sandy beach of Green Lakes and slowly winds its way around Round Lake and up towards, as the locals call it, the Serengeti. The race continues its way around the top before its descent to the lakes back to the beach.
5 miler: Want to try your hand at trail racing; however, you want a shorter race distance? The race starts at the sandy beach of Green Lakes and just touches the Serengeti before you head back down around the lakes.
*Considerations before registering. Pease wear the appropriate footwear, and note that there is potential for injury. When you register for the event you agree to release Miles & Macros, LLC, Sand to Serengeti, and all of it's affiliates of any liability.

Course Information
Race Information
- Race Date: May 17, 2027
- Time: 8:00 a.m. for both races
- Packet Pick-up: May 14th from 5pm-6pm at Fleet Feet, East Syracuse and race day 7am-7:45am
- Start Time: The race will begin at 8:00a.m.
- Pricing for 10 mile: Thanksgiving pricing 11/27/26-11/28/26 at $49. 11/29/2026 at $59. 3/15/27 at $69.
- Pricing for 5 mile: $40
- Aid Stations: One aid station will be placed at the intersection of mile 2 and 6.5 and a second aid station at mile 5.5. It is advised that athletes carry hydration/nutrition with them while on the course if needed. The aid station is only water. *Carry in, carry out. No trace left behind!*
- Bathroom facilities: The park bathrooms will be open.
- Parking: There will be parking in both parking lots by the beach.
- Swag: Participants who sign up for the 10 mile will receive a finisher medal. 5 mile participants have the choice of a sports towel, buff, lanyard, or drawstring bag.
- Awards for 10 mile:
- Awards for 1st -3rd male/female.
- $25 Fleet Feet gift cards for 1st male/female
- Age group awards: youngest to 39yo, 40yo (masters) to oldest runner. 1st- 3rd male/female.
- Awards for the median runner:
- $25 gift card has been donated by Fleet Feet Syracuse for the median runner
- Awards for 5 mile:
- Awards for 1st -3rd male/female.
- $25 Fleet Feet gift cards for 1st male/female
- Age group awards: youngest to 39yo, 40yo (masters) to oldest runner. 1st- 3rd male/female.
- RAFFLE: $50 gift card has been donated by Fleet Feet Syracuse to be raffled off to anyone who donated to our not-for-profit charity partner. Details to come
- Deferrals/Refunds: There are no deferrals after March 18th. There are no refunds for this race.
- Transfers: Transfers between 10 mile and 5 mile can be done until 3/15/27. No pro-rated refund.
Sponsorships: Available by request or go to our race website to view the Sponsorship Packet - Race Date Change Refunds: We are accepting refunds due to the rescheduling of our race until March 18th. We cannot accept any refunds after that date.

Local Food! This year's bib will have a tear-off ticket for you! Take that ticket and visit Trappers 2 for our choice of a slice of pizza or domestic draft. Trappers is only about 2 miles from Green Lakes and why would you not get some food and drink after you just ran 10 miles?!
