SFC Ryan Gloyer Memorial Run

The mission of the Ryan Gloyer Memorial 5K Run/Walk is to spread community awareness of the life & legacy of SFC Ryan Gloyer. As the namesake of the Ryan Gloyer Middle School, many people in the community are aware of Ryan’s military career & his ultimate sacrifice for our country. This Memorial Run will be an opportunity to share the attitudes & beliefs that make Ryan a role model for everyone in the Seneca Valley School District. 

This Memorial Run will honor Ryan’s legacy by highlighting how his positive attitude made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Our hope is that students, staff & the community will build their own personal philosophy of inclusivity, confidence, selflessness, perseverance & dedication.

This event is Run/Walk.

Strollers are welcome, please no pets. 

Early bird registration starts August 1st. 

Thursday October30- 5-7pm @ SV Aquatics Center

Saturday, November 1st 10am-12pm @ RGMS Lobby

Race Day- starting at 7am and will closes prior to start of the race @RGMS Lobby

Parking will be located in the upper student and lower lot of the Senior High School. There will be security on site to help guide with parking.

PLEASE NOTE- Parking in the upper student lot will allow participants to leave once the road reopens.  The roads on campus will be remain closed until the race is complete. If planning to leave prior to post-race ceremony, would suggest parking in upper student lot. 

Please note that Seneca School Road will close around 0830 so please arrive prior to the Road Closure! 

 Handicap parking will be available, if needed, closer to RGMS.  

Restrooms will be located inside of Ryan Gloyer Middle School.  Please access the restroom by entering the doors down to the left of the main entrance.

Ryan was an elite soldier; but he was also a loving son & brother; a lifelong student; and a forever friend. Throughout his life, Ryan inspired people to become the best they could be. As a teacher, he loved sharing knowledge & encouraging new ways of thinking. He was a leader who motivated others to reach their goals. 

SFC Ryan Gloyer was an athlete from a young age. As a student at Seneca Valley High School, he played varsity soccer & ran track. As a member of the Special Forces, Ryan’s dedication to physical fitness was noted & admired by his fellow soldiers. Adam Knauff, a classmate of Ryan’s, said he loved to run. Participation in this event welcomes everyone in the community to enjoy one of Ryan’s favorite activities. Ryan is remembered by many as someone who pushed his body to be better, stronger & faster; but, he also knew the importance of support & assistance for those who are struggling.

That’s why this Run is an opportunity for all people, regardless of health or fitness, to get up & get moving. Friends & family members often speak of the encouragement Ryan provided to them at many points in their lives, so we know Ryan would be encouraging everyone to take on the challenge of this 5k.

All participants will receive a custom, commemorative Ryan Gloyer 5k race shirt as well as wonderful post-race refreshments.
