The "big game" is on February 8th this year, which makes it easier to earn your swag before the game and proudly display it!

The Covid-19 Safety Measures were developed assuming purple tier restrictions. 

Packet Pickup and Registration

• There will be no in person or paper registration.
• Online registration will remain until the end of Superb Owl Weekend.
• If purchased, superb shirts will be mailed within a few days of registration.
• if purchased, superb medallions will be mailed after Superb Owl Weekend.

Virtual Course

• Run 3.1 miles anywhere, anytime.
• Please follow your local and state guidelines.

Marked Course in Clovis, CA

• CDPH: Physical conditioning, practice, skill-building, and training that can be conducted outdoors, with 6 feet of physical distancing, and within stable cohorts are authorized regardless of county tier status
• Although the course is marked, this is still considered a virtual event, that can be run either morning on Superb Owl Weekend.
• This is not an organized, in-person event.
  • 3.1 Mile distances and turns will be marked as permitted on the Clovis Trail just south of Railroad Park 
  • Chipped bibs will be available on request at the start 7:00am-11:00am (if permitted)
  • Choose a timeslot with minimal participants to reduce contact
  • No potties, aid stations, food, awards
  • Bring your own hydration/nutrition
  • Do not congregate near the start/finish
  • Remain 6 feet apart
  • Local runners can pick a wave time to start in and start in 30 second increments to reduce contact
  • Local runners can arrive at the start line up to 10 minutes before the scheduled wave
  • Local runners are asked to leave the finish area within 15 minutes after finishing and should wait for family and friends away from the finish

Spectators

• CDPH: Observers must  comply with the CDPH Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings, which broadly requires the use of face coverings for both members of the public and workers in all public and workplace settings.

Owls are generally solitary, but when seen together, the group is called a "parliament" as they have long been considered to be of a wise disposition.

A wise, or thrifty owl can create a team and receive a discount on registration fees.

• 10% off for a group/team of 3-4 participants
• 20% off for a group/team of 5 or more

First team members pay full price and are refunded when the team hits 3 or 5 members.

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU PURCHASE THE EVENT INSURANCE THAT IS OFFERED WITH EACH EVENT REGISTRATION. THIS INSURANCE WILL PROTECT YOUR REGISTRATION AND PROVIDE A FULL REFUND UNDER THE TERMS OF THE POLICY. 

Common covered reasons

Examples of situations that are typically covered include:

• Illness or accidental injury that prevents participation
• Serious illness or death of an immediate family member
• Vehicle breakdown or traffic accident while traveling to the event
• Severe weather that makes travel impossible or unsafe
• Job loss or involuntary layoff
• Required work relocation (under certain circumstances)
• Jury duty
• Active military deployment
• A positive COVID-19 test requiring isolation (when covered under the applicable policy)

What is not covered

RegShield generally does not reimburse if:

• You simply change your mind.
• You decide not to race.
• You have a scheduling conflict, vacation, or other personal plans.
• You forgot about the race.

The RegShield insurance premium is 8.1% of the registration cost (including processing fees) with a minimum insurance premium of $2.99 for registrations up to $24.99 and a minimum of $3.99 for registrations from $25.00 to $49.23. Premiums for registrations above $49.23 are 8.1%. Premiums in some states that apply surcharges may be slightly different.

Not able to participate this year?

REFUND POLICY: THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR EVENTS, NO EXCEPTIONS.

IF YOU CANNOT RACE IN THE EVENT FOR WHICH YOU ARE REGISTERED, AND YOU DID NOT PURCHASE THE INSURANCE, YOU CAN DO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING ONLINE PRIOR TO THE EVENT, ON THE YEAR OF YOUR REGISTRATION. 

• Deferrals - Transfer to next year ($25.00) at least 4 days prior to the event.
• Transfer - To a different race ($10.00) at least 7 days prior to the event
• Transfer - To a different distance (free) at least 4 days prior to the event
• Transfer - To another participant (free) at least 4 days prior to the event

NO DEFERRALS OR TRANSFERS ARE PERMITTED AFTER THE EVENT.

Why do we charge for deferals?

Most requests for deferrals come after we have already ordered and paid for supplies (medals, bibs, chips, food, etc.) for the race.  The deferral fee helps offset some of these costs.  Transfers to another destination or person, on the other hand, are for the same event and do not incur extra costs.

Optional medals and shirts will be mailed after the event.

Complete your race any time before February 6th. You will have until February 6th to submit virtual time.  After your race you can print your custom race finishers certificate!

You have two ways to run and submit your race:

1) Time your 5K run and submit your time on the results page.

2) Race anywhere and use Race Joy to track your 5K. Music will play during your run, friends can send you cheers, and your time will automatically submit once you finish your 5K!

Volunteers get a choice of

• 100% off a 5k or 10k run hosted by Activitynut
• 50% off of a multisport event hosted by Activitynut
