About Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble 5K & 1 Mile
An out-and-back Thanksgiving morning race tradition for the whole family! Held on Thursday, November 26th. We start and end at Benchmark International Arena located at 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa, FL 33602. Your choice of 1 mile fun run which starts at 8:15am,5K run/ walk which starts at 7am, or a virtual 5k from anywhere! Limited dogs welcome, all pups must be registered. Strollers welcomed- please plan to line up in the back. Children in strollers do not need to be registered for the race, but they must stay in the stroller while on the course and they will not receive a race shirt or swag. If requesting a ladies size t-shirt, please keep in mind they run really small and order one or TWO sizes up.
The Y is proud to say that the Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble covers 100% of the cost of our youth cancer survivor program: Kids Thrivers Club. The free 12-week programs offers children affected by cancer a safe, supportive environment to participate in physical and social activities focused on strengthening the whole person. While participating in the program, participants and their household family members receive a membership to the Tampa YMCA, helping the whole family regain their health. Additionally, it covers 100% of the cost of our Pedaling for Parkinson's program, helping those affected by Parkinson's and their caregivers to have a community of support while participants see a reduction in symptoms. With your participation, the Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble also supports several other programs to improve the health of our community, including: the Diabetes Prevention Program, Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program, Healthy Steps for Older Adults, Enhance Fitness and so much more!

Course Map
An out and back race starting in Channelside at Benchmark International Arena (formerly Amalie Arena), crossing the Platt Street Bridge and taking 5K participants onto beautiful Bayshore Boulevard, then return back to Benchmark International Arena for snacks and awards.
Event Schedule
5:30 AM - Plaza at Benchmark International Arena (formerly Amalie Arena) opens
6:30 AM - 5K Corral Staging. There will be designated corrals for participants with baby joggers/strollers or pets.

When & where is the 11th Annual Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble?
The 11th Annual Tampa YMCA Turkey Gobble, Tampa’s Thanksgiving Day 5K & 1 Mile Walk will take place on Thurs., Nov. 27, 2025 beginning and ending in front of Benchmark International Arena (formerly Amalie Arena), 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa 33602. The 5k begins at 7am and the 1 mile begins at 8am. 5K awards will be held at approximately 8am as well.
What is the price of the race and is it timed?
The 5K race is chip timed, the 1-mile walk/run is not.

Can I pick up someone else's race bib or can someone pick up mine?
Yes, you can pick up for others or have them pick up for you. The person picking up bibs must bring a copy of each person's registration copy or photo ID.
Where do I park on race day?
Parking is available in the Pam Iorio Parking Garage ($10 flat fee) and the Fort Brooke and surrounding parking garages ($2/hour). Limited street parking is available in the downtown Tampa area. Is gear-check available on race morning?
Gear-check/hold is not available on race day.
Are bicycles, rollerblades, scooters, wheeled shoes or other wheeled transportation allowed in the race?
For safety reasons, except for participants pushing a baby stroller/jogger, no wheeled vehicles including but not limited to scooters, rollerblades, rolling shoes and bicycles are NOT allowed on the race course. Participants pushing a baby stroller/jogger will line up in a designated start corral.
Are dogs allowed at the race?
Yes! However, they must be registered on the race registration site. There is a $5 fee to register dogs, this will cover the cost of the bandana they should be wearing on race day. The capacity for dogs is 150 and registration will close once that number is met. For safety reasons, dogs must be on a non-retractable leash not to exceed 6’. Owners must clean up after them and will line up in a designated start corral.
I registered for the virtual race, what do I need to know?
All virtual participants get a t-shirt and medal which you will need to pickup at one of the pre-race packet pickups located at Dick's House of Sports in the International Plaza. You may run/walk your race at your own time/location between 11/23-11/30. You may post your results during that time on our registration site.
My child will be in a stroller, do I need to register my child?
You do not need to register your child for the race if they will ride in the stroller and remain in the stroller while on the course. If your child likes to get out and walk with you periodically, please register your child. Children do not need to remain in strollers on the plaza at the Arena. Only registered participants receive a shirt and finisher medal.
Do you need volunteers and how can they sign up?
