To The Good Times Trail Run

Belmont Run Club is excited to again host To The Good Times Trail Run, a 5K/10K trail run at Rocky Branch Park. Proceeds from the race will go to support the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN). PanCAN's vision is to create a world in which all patients with pancreatic cancer will thrive. General

• Open to individuals of all ages and abilities
• Awards will be given to the following for each race:
  • Overall Winners
  • Age Group Winners
• Race timing will be by Innovative Timing and bib chips
• Participants will receive a To The Good Times Trail Run and Belmont Run Club branded T-shirt and sticker
• The event is capped at 150 participants.

Belmont Run Club is thrilled to host To The Good Times Trail Run this October. Our past races have raised tens of thousands of dollars for PanCan, the BRC is excited to make this year's event bigger and better. 

Proceeds from To The Good Times Trail Run will go to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN, learn more about them here). Ashley and David, two run clubbers who helped start Belmont Run Club in 2020, have seen the impacts of pancreatic cancer firsthand. First, when David’s grandmother, Molly, passed away as a result of the disease, and most recently with the passing of Ashley’s father, Jerry. With more than 62,000 Americans projected to be diagnosed this year, PanCAN’s vision is to create a world in which all patients with pancreatic cancer will thrive. It was only natural that Station Belmont Run Club's race would support PanCAN in their fight.

Our hope is that this race will not only help support in the fight against pancreatic cancer, but that it will also bring the people together for a good time outside. As Jerry would often say with a smile when raising a toast, “to the good times.”

• Please contact us in advance if you are unable to make any of these times
• Bib numbers will be assigned at packet pickup
• Runner bags with shirts and other sponsor-provided goodies will be picked up at this time as well

Parking & Race Start

• The race will start at 8:30AM Saturday, October 4, 2025 (course will close 2 hours after start time).

• Please be respectful of our neighbors by not blocking driveways or other cars and ensure you’re not blocking any street signs.

The Course

• Race Route: The route will start at the main entrance on the Belmont side of the park. Runners will begin down the main Rocky Branch Trail, connect through the Canopy trail, and loop back before the parking lot on the Cramerton side of the park before returning on the Rocky Branch Trail to the finish line near the parking lot.

 

• • 5K: 1 lap around the course
  • 10K: 2 laps around the course

 

• A water station will be set up at the Cramerton turnaround point, but please be sure to bring your own water and snacks for the course as needed and be respectful of the park by keeping it clean and disposing of all trash in the designated trash bins.
• Trails will be marked with signs with arrows and purple stake flags

               

• The course will be a mix of single track and larger gravel paved service road-like terrain. There may be technical features along the trail, but the course will always have a bypass around the obstacles to be avoided.
• Please be respectful and safe if trying to pass other runners on the course.

Timing

• The race will have a gun start and race timing will be by Innovative Timing and bib chips

Spectators 

• Spectators are welcome to cheer on their friends and family, however we ask they they stay off of the course during the race out of respect for other runners

• This event is supported 100% by volunteers. Be sure to say thank you to those helping make the race happen when you see them on race day or packet pickup, and If anyone is joining you race day that might be interested in volunteering, let us know by sending an email to belmontrunclub@gmail.com

The race route will start at the main entrance on the Belmont side of the park. Runners will begin down the main Rocky Branch Thread Trail, run the Canopy Trail loop, return to the Thread Trail and follow it all the way to the trailhead on the Cramerton side of the park before returning on the Thread Trail to the finish line near the main entrance.

5K distance will complete 1 lap of the race course, and the 10K distance will complete 2 laps of the course. 

 

Waivers

All runners must complete a waiver during the registration process before participating.

 

Weather

The run will proceed rain or shine. We reserve the right to reschedule, cancel, or adjust the race schedule at any time. 

 

Refund Policy

Race registration fees are non-refundable.

 

Safety

Trails will be open to bikers, walkers, runners, hikers, and pets at all times during the event. Please be courteous of others enjoying the park and be sure to get people's attention before passing them on the trails.

 

Emergency

Belmont Run Club will not perform trail rescues. Participants should be sure to call 911 in the case of an emergency, using the emergency markers along the course as needed. 

Anyone registered for either the 10K or the 5K  by September 1 will automatically be entered into a raffle to win a 2-night stay at Emberglow Outdoor Resort! A drawing will be held after the race where the winner of the raffle will be announced. 

Runners will receive a race shirt, as well as other sponsor donated giveaways. The race and all giveaways are capped for 150 participants.
