Westlake Veterans Club 1st Annual Run/Walk

On June 6th, our community comes together not just to run or walk, but to remember. The Westlake Veterans Club invites you to honor the courage, sacrifice, and unity shown on D‑Day by joining us for a military‑themed 5K run and 2K walk.  And will have designated sections named after the 5 landing sites- Omaha, Utah, Gold, Juno and Sword. Both the 5K and 2K courses are on the beautiful, flat roadways surrounding the golf course with the start and finish lines at the world class clubhouse!  Proceeds will enable the continuing philanthropic donations the Westlake Veterans Club provides to veteran and community causes in the Greater Ocean County area.

Adding to the fun atmosphere of the day will be a military ceremony with color guard, music, and refreshments.

The 5K race is sanctioned by the USATF with awards as follows:

 Individual Awards:   

                                    Top 3 Male/Female Overall
                                    1st Firefighter
                                    1st Police
                                    1st Military/ROTC
                                    1st Doctor
                                    1st Nurse
                                    1st Teacher                                    
                                    1st Westlake Resident       

Age Group Awards: 

                                     Top 3 Male/Female in Age Groups: Under 15, 15-19, 20-29,30-39,40-49,50-59,60-69,70-79, 80-89, 90 and Over.         

Team Awards: 

                                      Presented to the winning teams in the following divisions: 

                                      * Military Division     * Open Division 

                                      Note:  Teams require a minimum of 3 members competing.  The winner is based on the lowest total time for the first 3 runners on a team.                           

2K Fun Run/Walk Awards:

                                     No awards.  This is a non-competitive event.  But you still receive the commemorative shirt and other giveaways.

The Westlake Veterans Club is a non-political, community-based organization located in Jackson, New Jersey, primarily serving the needs of veterans and the club is dedicated to supporting local veterans, their families and community needs through a mix of charitable fundraising, active involvement, social camaraderie, and resource advocacy. 

Key aspects of the club include:

• Mission & Support: They aim to assist veterans and families in Ocean County who are facing challenges such as PTSD, service-connected disabilities, and homelessness.

• Charitable Projects: Notable initiatives include funding the procuring two emotional support dogs, outfitting the women’s wing of Veterans Haven South, continued support of two food pantries in Jackson, NJ  and supporting local transitional housing like Haven South and Larry’s Home.

• Events: The club hosts major community fundraisers, such as an Annual Charity Golf Outing and the WVC Run & Walk, and the Summer Spectacular entertainment extravaganza in July.  These events all contribute to our mission of making a positive impact to those in need.

• Resource Advocacy: They partner with agencies like the Ocean County Veterans Service Bureau to host Resource Fairs, helping veterans navigate benefits, claims, and medical services.

• Social Atmosphere: The group maintains an inclusive environment for members to share stories and "good times" while strictly avoiding divisive political or religious discourse. 

The Westlake Veterans 5Krun/2k walk is designed for anyone who wants to make a meaningful, local impact on the lives of veteran active military families and those in need in the Greater Ocean County area.  Runners, walkers, volunteers, and community supporters all play a part in strengthening the network of care. Whether someone participates to honor a loved one, to show appreciation for service members, or simply to support a worthy cause, their involvement directly uplifts families who shoulder the unique challenges of military life.

Every dollar raised goes right back into supporting those families and the local communities.  The event also benefits the broader network of military families who continue to serve today. These families often navigate frequent moves, long separations, and the day‑to‑day pressures of military life. By participating in the Westlake Veterans 5Krun/2k walk, supporters help sustain programs that ease those burdens and reinforce the sense of community that is so vital to military readiness. It’s a chance for the surrounding community to stand beside those who serve and to make a tangible difference in their lives.

🥇 Gold Sponsor — $500 Donation
Includes promo codes for 5 complimentary Run/Walk entries (including race T-shirts).  Single color sponsor logo on shirt if provided by April 15th.

🥈 Silver Sponsor — $250 Donation
Includes promo codes for 4 complimentary Run/Walk entries (including race T-shirts).  Sponsor name on shirt.

🥉 Bronze Sponsor — $100 Donation
Includes promo codes for 2 complimentary Run/Walk entries (including race T-shirts).  Sponsor name on shirt.

Promo codes enabling these complimentary registrations will be emailed to sponsors once their sponsorship payment has been received.

Sponsor Recognition:

All sponsors whose commitments are received by April 15 are guaranteed to have their name included on the event’s commemorative T-shirt. In addition, single-color logos from Diamond and Gold level sponsors received by April 15 will be printed on the commemorative T-shirt.

The 5K Course consists of 2 loops (run counterclockwise) as depected by the red line on the map below.   The Start (S) and Finish (F) are near the entrance to the Westlake Country Club main parking lot.
