Wounded Warrior 5K Fun Run

Walk, Run, or Jog... 

This family-friendly event raises awareness and funds in support of our nation's bravest warriors and their families through programs and services provided by Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). Join us on the beautiful campus of Trane Technologies in Davidson, NC, for a 5K along the shore of Lake Norman.

Not local to Davidson? We still want you to participate so please join our "Virtual" option and participate from wherever you are! 

All participants receive a race bib, a WWP t-shirt, and a medal upon completion. Register by October 15th to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

For over 20 years, Wounded Warrior Project has provided programs, services, and advocacy to empower post-9/11 wounded, ill, and injured veterans and their families — including mental health services, physical wellness activities, VA benefits assistance, and peer support. Veterans are more than twice as likely to die by suicide as non-veterans, according to the VA, and many wait months for access to mental health care. WWP's programs directly address this need — and suicide is preventable.

Since Team Yellow Ribbon held its first 5K in 2023, we've raised nearly $30,000 for this cause. There's more work to do — join us!

The WWP Fun Run will be held, rain or shine, unless the event directors determine that conditions are too dangerous. This will be based on a prudent decision made the night before the event or on the day of the 5K by US and local law enforcement officials. If the race is canceled due to inclement weather there will be neither refunds nor transfers. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, the event directors reserve the right to alter, cancel or eliminate any/all portions of the event.

Participant Parking is on-site at Building D. Once on campus, please follow the signs for Building D. On-site parking is free of charge. 

For those participating in Davidson, race packets will be available for pick-up beginning at 8am on race day at the Check-In tent. 

For Trane employees, race packets will be available for pick-up on Tuesday, October 21 and Wednesday, October 22 from 11:45am-1pm in the cafeteria. 

For Virtual participants, race bibs, t-shirts, and medals will be mailed to the address given. 

To receive a t-shirt, please register by October 15th. 

Registration fees are non-refundable. Event registrations are non-transferable between individuals, events, or years.

Leashed dogs are welcome to join in on the fun!
